Air Traffic Management (ATM) system is a man-machine system consisting of various equipments and personnel carrying out ATC missions.  It is mainly used to prevent collisions between airplanes and between airplanes and ground obstacles, avoid dangerous weather, speed up flight flow, improve airspace utilization ratio, and insure safety and order flights. On the other hand, the ATC system can also be used as an important part of homeland air defense system, capable of conducting airspace surveillance and management.

The ATC (Air Traffic Control) system is a ground-based comprehensive system, which contains radar, communication, navigation, flight data process, display and storage equipment. The aircraft status information (location, altitude, velocity, aircraft code and weather information, etc.) can be sent to managers on the ground timely and continuously to ensure safe aircraft departure and landing.
